Students are excited...

In AP & regular US kids are using gflash, mostly on iphones, to create flash cards for the AP exam, and STAR exam.

In Women's Studies students will be using goodreads on phones or ipads as we work through The Handmaids Tale.  One group will be reading electronically.

In both cases students were visibly excited to have electronic options for their assignments, which speaks to how technology is a motivator with our kids.

  1. I'm also using electronic flashcards with the kids for vocab which has been producing good results on assessments and relieving them of the burden and time of having to make them by hand. Doing so has also double the amount of online games they now have access to to study -- which helps them immensely, and as they are mobile, provides more frequent and easier opportunities to study.

    1. for week one I am posting questions, and they are all required to respond. For future weeks or books, I am considering posting what would've been the printed assignment on goodreads and then they respond online, just a thought...

    2. Thanks! I'll check that out; it sounds like how I sometimes use the discussion function of turnitin.com
